1951 Moved to Moscow
1955-1962 Studied at the Moscow Art College
1962-1968 Studied at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography VGIK (art faculty)
1969-1971 Worked as an artist for central Soviet TV-channels as a stage designer
Since 1970's He has been working as a book illustrator, collaborating with the "Art"
(Iskusstvo) and "Book" (Kniga) Publishing Houses
Since 1979 Member of the "Collective Actions" group
Since 1980's Involved in a number of monumental art projects
1984 Awarded the title "Honored Artist of the Russian Republic"
Since 1987 Member of the Avant-gardists Club (KLAVA)
1998 Civitella Ramieri Centre fellowship, Umbria, Italy
1999 Nominee of the Russian Federation State Award in Visual arts

ELENA ELAGINA

1949 Born in Moscow
1962-1967 Worked with Ernst Neizvetsny
1967-1972 Was an apprentice to Alisa Poret
1972-1975 Studied at the Orekhovo-Zuevo Pedagogical Institute, literacy faculty
1969-1978 Worked as an illustrator at "Knowledge in Power"(Znanie-Sila) magazine
Since 1979 Member of the "Collective actions" group
Since 1987 Member of the Avant-gardists Club (KLAVA)
1989 Co-curator of the exhibition "Documentation Research"
1998 Civitella Ramieri Centre fellowship, Umbria, Italy
2000 Co-founder and Chairman of the Administrative Board of the "Art Projects" Foundation, Moscow

Since 1990 Makarevich and Elagina have been working together largely. They live and work in Moscow.
